This is my 44cm 2008 Salsa Chili Con Crosso custom cross build. I attempted to build the lightest possible bike that my budget would allow. Many parts I had previously on my Ridley and just swapped them over to this cross project. Once the bike was complete the project weighed in at 16.36 pounds. I could take some weight off, putting this bike into the 15-pound weight class by switching out the Shimano Ultegra Cranks and changing the ZIPP clinchers to a tubular set.

It would be lighter and more importantly better performing with tubulars... 404 clinchers are heavy!
Otherwise a superb bike. I bet it's a blast to race.
Your saddle points the direction I like riding, and you chains a bit short(although I guess you need it this way without the benefit of a front derail). I think easton forks are lighter than alpha q but I'm not sure about that and I wonder how many sets of crank brother pedals it takes to get through a muddy cross season:) Sweet looking rig though, I'm sure it will be a fun year you get out of it.
Seems a shame to have the left brake lever match so poorly - while the Campy brake-only is very expensive, at least the hood shape on Cane Creek/Tektro match.

I like the bike. I just sent in my 44cm Chili for comparison. Like I say in my post by far the best upgrade from a performance per pound per dollar are wheels. Especially in cross where acceleration matters so much, the reduced rotational weight is a huge advantage.

you cant be serious with those prices you have listed??? $550 for a record rear derialleur? just paid $275 brand new.$550 for the cassette as well? just paid $135 for a full ti record brand new condition. $290 for ONE lever? paid $300 for the record qs ultra SET brand new with cables. do you let your local bike shop rip you off like that or what?
