Plus One Lap used to be all about cyclocross, now it's my dumping grounds for anything cycling.

My Singlespeed CX "done" for now.
Just finished building up my Singlespeed Nishiki "thrift store" bike. I "finished" it 8 months ago, but never raced it. I really didnt have the right stem on there for the Midge bars. Now those are off and a new stem has been put on. Its ready to race, but I dont like the looks of the black stem on this bike.
Im thinking of a silver stem, maybe one of those below:
Its a road frame, that I had canti posts brazed onto it by a local framebuilder for like $30, then had it powdercoated. I'll post some more info about it soon.
OK, the SINGLE biggest question of the day regarding the bike: Where did you find that white Selle Italia Trans Alpe Flite saddle?? Dude, I have one and just had to remove it from my CX bike as it was just too worn out. They don't make 'em any more either! If you know a source for those puppies, hookup a bro!
Nah, its not that light. Comes in at 20.7 lbs with my tubular race wheels on it. Under 20 is my first goal. I didnt really want to buy a carbon fork for her though----I like the look of the steel fork on there----and thats a very heavy Surly fork.

nice singlespeed! what model nishiki is it? i've been keeping an eye out for something inexpensive with cantilever posts (plus horizontal drops!)

Looks dope!!! I'd like to complete a similar bike. The idea of fixt cross, after the race season,is very intriguing. Powdercoating rules.

I got it off of Ebay like 2 yrs ago, I would just keep searching there...mine was new in the box with tags on it...got it for like $60ish. Good luck!
does it make your sub 18 pound category? I think you should also have a SS category of pics. maybe one bike would make all three categories?
